Hi, we're Dan & Christina. We would like to share with you our successful adoption story. Our journey began when we were married in 1999. We looked forward to starting a family right away. Since Christina is adopted, we had planned on having both biological & adopted children. After a year of doctors, treatments & "unexplained infertility", we began our search for an adoption agency. Friends of ours told us about Gentle Care. They adopted two baby girls through Gentle Care and were very satisfied.

We initially had some concerns/questions about "open adoption" as Christina's adoption back in 1965 was closed. After learning more about it through a seminar & meeting with Gentle Care, we felt more comfortable. We were also able to meet a birthmom & hear about her experience with open adoption. This was very beneficial.

Six months after our homestudy was completed & approved we were matched with our birthmom. We call her our angel. She wanted to meet us and although we were nervous at first, we are so happy that we had the opportunity to meet her. We felt so honored that she chose us. Meeting her put both our minds at ease. There was an immediate bond between the three of us.

Two months later, our birthmother gave birth to the most beautiful baby boy that we have ever seen! After 72 hrs. we met at the hospital. Here we exchanged hugs and tears. It was like nothing else any of us had done before. Our birthmother wanted to hand our son to us personally. We left holding our son who we named Aaron. Four months later we have yet to put him down!

It's fun every month to write to our birthmom and send her pictures. She has changed our lives and we are forever grateful. Our adoption story has become a bedtime favorite, Aaron almost seems to understand it.
