Birthmothers
You design your own personalized adoption plan with the assistance of a counselor. You choose the adoptive family with whom you wish to place your child from a selection of profiles of waiting families, all of whom have been approved for adoption. You also choose an open or closed adoption with the option of meeting the family. You can be secure in knowing that a very loving, wonderful home will be provided for your child.
Gentle Care is here to assist you during and after your pregnancy in the following ways:
- A counselor to assist you throughout the process.
- Vocational and career guidance. Support services and community resources for your individual needs.
- Counselors and support network available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Financial assistance with medical coverage and reasonable living expenses.
- Letters from the adoptive families and pictures of the baby monthly for the first year of placement.
- Continued communication if agreed upon by you and adoptive family.
- Counselors will coordinate and attend all meetings between you and adoptive parents, if desired.
- If needed, transportation will be provided for you to doctor visits and to and from the hospital for the birth.
Coordinating Communication with Birthmothers:
- Gentle Care will research community resources for your individual needs.
- Gentle Care will inform Adoptive Parents of all status developments with the Birthmother as they arise.
- Gentle Care will coordinate and facilitate the signing of the adoption forms by both the Birthmother and the Adoptive Parents, and place the baby with the Adoptive Parents.
